Welcome to GLL Sport Foundation
There has never been a more exciting time for talented young sports people in Great Britain.
With excitement growing for both London 2012 and national sporting success, we believe there is a real opportunity to help young athletes follow their sporting ambitions and raise sport participation within local communities.
The GLL Sport Foundation was set up to offer financial and training grants to help the next generation of sporting hopefuls. The Foundation operates across a range of Boroughs in London and the South of England; including over 60% of London's most economically deprived areas.
Despite being recognised as talented sports people, most young athletes have very limited access to funding opportunities and many are unable to meet the rising costs of competition and training as regional and national demands are placed upon them.
Evidence from the Country's top athletes will confirm that the rise from local talent to regional and national competition is characteristically one of the most difficult stages of an athlete's career.
The Foundation has set key objectives to help reduce the financial burden facing many young people as they progress within their chosen sport. It benefits greatly from the knowledge, advice and commitment of it's Patron, Sally Gunnell OBE,
