GB international Peter Vincent won the European Traditional Judo Heavyweight Title in Thessaloniki, Greece at the 3rd Traditional European Championships.
Peter was selected for the event to represent the JFAUK National Squad along with another two Worthing Judokas Ross Elliot and Carl Boiling. (Ross and Carl are on the left of the group and Peter is fourth from the right). The JFAUK are the National Governing Body for Traditional Judo in the UK.
Peter fought through the knock out beating a Bulgarian by an ippon throw and a Macedonian by an arm lock submission. The final saw Peter face another Bulgarian with Peter throwing him into a transition hold down to take the title.
Ross Elliot fought in the under 99Kg and took a fine Bronze and Carl Boiling in his first ever Europeans took a 5th place. The squad in total took 4 Golds 1 Silver and 1 Bronze with 17 Countries taking part in the event.
