GSF Athletes Excel

Here at GSF headquarters we receive a lot of emails everyday from our athletes telling us all about their recent successes and results. It is amazing to see so many young athletes excel and it makes the work we do so rewarding, below is a few of the many sensational things our athletes have achieved recently;

Pippa Roessler came second in the 3000m at English Schools, earning her England Vest. Pippa competed for England in Swansea the following Saturday against Scotland, Wales and Ireland, where she achieved Silver in the 3000m.

Cleo Agyepong won a Gold medal in the under 15 girl’s shotput at the SEAA Championships in Ashford two weeks ago, then went on to win a Gold with a throw of 13.59m at the England Athletics under 15 girls Championships which is a personal best.

Shelayna Oskan-Clarke ran 2:02.31 to finish second in the 800m and help England to fifth position at the European Team Championships in Poland.

Olly Murray, along with his teammate Myles, won the Men’s Relay at the 2019 European Modern Pentathlon Championships.

The 72-strong team for the World Championships later this month was announced by British Athletics yesterday, with 7 GSF athletes competing in 8 events.

Chris McAlister will compete in the 400m hurdles, Nick Miller will throw for Gold in the Hammer throw and Dwayne Cowan in the 4x400m relay. Daryll Neita will be looking to impress in the 100m and the 4x100m relay, which will also feature fellow GSF athlete Ashleigh Nelson. In the 800m Shelayna Oskan-Clarke will look to run her way into top spot, and finally, Aimee Pratt will be competing in the 3000m steeplechase.

GB have also announced a strong squad for the World Para-swimming Championships, including 5 GSF athletes; Jessica Jane Applegate, Ellie Simmonds, Brock Whiston, Stephanie Millward MBE and Tully Kearney.

Congratulations to all athletes who were selected for both events, we cannot wait to see how you get on!
