Edward is the first tennis ambassador for the GLL Sport Foundation.
He was able to reach NCAA rankings of #4 in singles and #2 in doubles whilst competing for the University of Texas. Since turning professional Edward has won 7 Futures singles titles, 2 Challenger doubles titles, competed in the doubles at Wimbledon on two occasions and reached career high ATP rankings of #215 in singles and #144 in doubles. It has been quite a journey over the last 7 years playing professionally, and one which he is looking forward to continuing.
“The GLL facilities that I’m training at are providing me with everything I need to improve my game and fitness when I’m back at base. And the financial support they have generously provided is helping me pay for some of my expenses on the road. GLL’s support has been fantastic!”
Current Achievements & Goals
Recently, it has been a challenging time. I have been putting in lots of great work in training, and have been competing at a high level, but the results have not been flowing. Throughout a tour in the Far East and then the grass court season, I have been pushing lots of high quality opposition very close without getting many of those all important wins. I am optimistic about the rest of the summer however, as I know I am playing well and putting in good, hard work. The results will come soon I am sure. Hopefully this year I can push on and achieve my goals of winning another futures title and making the final of an ATP challenger event.
