Joe Appiah represented Team GB in Madrid Spain at the European Masters Athletics Indoor Championships EMACI and took home Gold in the long jump in his age group M45 category with 6.33m, after trying for 11 years and with a hamstring injury! more HERE 

Austin Mitchell-King achieved Gold with Team GB under 18’s at the International Ice Hockey tournament in Tallinn, Estonia in March. GB swept to victory with an impressive 4 wins and 1 defeat, GB were also then promoted to Division 1B.

Elise Richardson took part in the Swim England National Championships with the Rugby team. The team earned a respectable 4th place in the free combination category and 4th in the technical team.

William Tan competed in the English Taekwondo championships which were held in Worchester. He kicked off winning Silver in the ‘Black belt cadet boys’ category. He then went on to win Bronze in the semi-finals of the ‘Black belt Cadet Boys’ middleweight division.

Francesca Turner flipped her way to victory; winning a silver medal at the Acrobatics World Age Group competition in Antwerp. She was just pipped to gold by Russia after they tied with a score of 28.1, but just lost out as they had a slightly higher execution score. Well done Francesca!

Steph Driscoll competed in the Under 17 Pentathlon at the Nationals in March and achieved a Silver Medal – making her 2nd in the country for her age!!!

Christian Mitchell received the bronze medal in the boys badminton singles at the Under 17 English National Championships – his best result to date!!!

En-Garde!!! Casey Jones competed in the Bavarian Youth Fencing Championships at the end of April and won the Gold. This was his first European Gold and a first for England to win at this event!!! Well done Casey!

Gymnast Ruby Evans was crowned British Champion 2018 after collecting the 1st place trophy in her level 2 competition!

GLL Ambassador Dina Asher-Smith set a new British 100 metre record beating her previous time of 10.99 with a run of 10.92 at the Diamond League meeting in Oslo. She is now in training for the European championships in August and feels confident that she will do well. We are right behind you Dina (and hopefully everyone else will be too)! See the race HERE
