Joe sent us an update from the World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships that you can read below:

One of my aims this season is the World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships in Daegu, South Korea 19-25 March. I entered for 3 events. My 1st event was LJ final at 9am on 20th and achieved a silver medal with a jump of 6.24m. After this l completing the heats and semi final of the 60m. In the final on 21st l got of to the best start and the 2 favourites just took me with 7m from the line. I got a bronze medal with a time of 7.30secs. My faster 60m time for 5 years. Next stop my main event on 23rd, 60m hurdles semi final which l won comfortably. By this time my back was causing me some issues which was effecting my hamstrings. The team physiotherapist have been excellent in fixing my back after each race. I run the final 60m hurdles race and won by almost a second with a time of 8.42secs, not too far from my European record. My job was done, 3 events, 3 medals, a very successful championship.

“Thank you for your believing in me and for an excellent support. Your contribution has been a great influence in my continue success. I aim to inspire the young and old and hopefully my performance has done that. My advisory role, mentoring and coaching role with my club, training group and a number of other athletes l support will benefit from my experience. ”

As you can see Joe is having a fantastic indoor season and we are looking forward to seeing how he can perform outdoors this years. Thanks again to Joe for sending us the update – we love hearing about our supported athlete successes!
