GLL Sport Foundation Athletes Shine at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi

GLL Sport Foundation (GSF) athletes, both past and present, delivered outstanding performances on the global stage at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, India which was held 27 September – 5 October 2025. Competing against the world’s best in the Indian capital, they showcased remarkable resilience, power, and precision - returning home with two golds and one bronze medal for Great Britain and Northern Ireland!

The Championships began strongly for GSF athletes as Bree Cronin (Achievement Award, Cardiff) competed in the Women’s Discus Throw F44 final. Bree produced a consistent series of throws to secure a 5th-place finish, laying an early marker for the Foundation’s athletes and continuing her rise on the international stage.

GSF alumni athlete Zak Skinner (BG Nottingham) was next to compete on the 1st October, taking part in the Men’s Long Jump T13 final. In a fiercely contested event, Zak delivered an impressive series of jumps to finish 4th, just outside the medals. 

On the penultimate day, GSF saw two medals secured in field events. Daniel Pembroke (Training Award, Herefordshire) threw brilliantly in the Men’s Javelin F13 final, capturing gold with a commanding performance that reaffirmed his world-class status.

Shortly after, Anna Nicholson (Training Award, Gateshead) stepped up in the Women’s Shot Put F35 final, producing an outstanding series to claim the bronze medal!

On the final day of competition, GSF alumni Aled Davies (Bridgend) added another chapter to his illustrious career by winning gold in the Men’s Shot Put F63 final. Aled’s dominant display once again showcased his technical mastery and competitive drive, extending his remarkable run of success on the world stage.

Across nine days of competition, GSF past and present athletes showed exceptional resilience, talent, and sportsmanship in New Delhi, combining for a total of two gold medals and one bronze for Great Britain. The GLL Sport Foundation is immensely proud of every athlete who represented their club, their country, and the Foundation in India.
