The GLL Sport Foundation (GSF) is proud to congratulate seven past and present GSF-supported athletes who represented Team GB at the World Athletics U20 Championships, held from 5–9 August 2026 in Oregon.
Competing on the world stage at such a young age is a fantastic achievement in itself, and these athletes demonstrated the talent, dedication and determination that has helped them reach this level. With impressive performances across a range of events, they have given us plenty of reasons to believe they are athletes to watch in the years ahead!
Thea Brown (Heptathlon, Manchester, Training Award)
Thea produced an excellent performance in the heptathlon, finishing 4th overall. Her result places her among the very best young multi-event athletes in the world and is a fantastic achievement on her first major international stage.
Katie Pye (3000m, Guildford, Alumni (2025))
Katie competed in the 3000m, finishing 16th against some of the world's best young distance runners. Competing at this level provides invaluable international experience as Katie continues her athletics journey.
Qi-Chi Ukpai (Triple Jump, Greenwich, Alumni (2025))
Former GSF athlete Qi-Chi Ukpai represented Team GB in the triple jump, finishing 10th in qualifying Group A. Reaching a World U20 Championships is a significant achievement and provides valuable experience that Qi-Chi can build on as her career progresses.
Daisy Snell (Long Jump, Greenwich, Training Award)
Daisy reached the long jump final, finishing an impressive 6th. A top-six finish at a World Athletics U20 Championships is a fantastic accomplishment and marks Daisy out as one to watch as she continues to develop.
Divine Iheme (4x100m Relays, Vale of White Horse, Alumni (2024))
Former GSF-supported athlete Divine Iheme returned to the international stage and helped Team GB secure silver medals in both the men's 4x100m and mixed 4x100m relays. Two world U20 medals are an outstanding achievement and demonstrate the continued progression of this talented young sprinter.
Camiah Bennett (4x400m Relays, Rugby, Training Award)
Camiah enjoyed a highly successful championships, helping Team GB to a bronze medal in the women's 4x400m relay. She also competed in the mixed 4x400m relay, where the team finished 5th. Two strong performances on the world stage cap an impressive championship for Camiah.
Savannah Morgan (Mixed 4x100m Relay, Rugby, Training Award)
Savannah also left the championships with a silver medal, helping Team GB to a podium finish in the mixed 4x100m relay. It is a brilliant achievement and another important milestone in Savannah's developing career.
From medals and top-six finishes to gaining invaluable experience on the international stage, the performances of these athletes are a testament to the hard work and commitment required to reach a World Championships.
For the GLL Sport Foundation, supporting talented athletes throughout their sporting journeys is at the heart of what we do. We are delighted to have played a small part in the journeys of these athletes and to see both our current and former award recipients representing their country at one of the biggest events in the junior athletics calendar.
