GSF athletes help Team GBR Secure Four Olympic Figure Skating Spots for Milano Cortina 2026

GSF athletes help Team GBR Secure Four Olympic Figure Skating Spots for Milano Cortina 2026!

GLL Sport Foundation Ambassadors Lilah Fear & Lewis Gibson, and GSF Alumni Kristen Spours & James Hernandez had a week of stellar performances at the 2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships last week in Boston, resulting in Team GB officially securing four Olympic quota places for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina.

  • 1 spot in Ladies’ Singles – secured by Kristen Spours (GSF Alumni)
  • 1 spot in Pairs – secured by Anastasia Vaipan-Law & Luke Digby
  • 2 spots in Ice Dance – secured by Lilah Fear (GSF Ambassador) & Lewis Gibson (GSF Ambassador) and Phebe Bekker & James Hernandez (GSF Alumni)
These spots were secured based on the ISU’s Olympic qualification criteria, which allocate quota places to countries based on results at the World Championships and additional qualification events.

While the athletes who will ultimately represent Great Britain in these Olympic spots have yet to be selected, this result ensures that GB will have representation across three disciplines at the Games. The official Olympic team selection process will take place later in the 2025–26 season and will follow British Ice Skating's nomination policy and the British Olympic Association’s final selection.

Congratulations to all of the athletes, we are excited to follow your journeys!
