Niki was successful on competing in three consecutive weeks on high level competitions last month.
At the London Youth Games on the 18th of June at Crystal Palace he quickly dispatched his opponents using his hip techniques on the left side with devastating effect storming his way to the final. Unfortunately, he lost out in the finals against very tall opponent but secured silver on the biggest youth competition in Europe.
At the Kent International on the 25th of June at Gillingham, Kent, Niki showed good judo as expected, taking part in seven tough fights. Niki got to the bronze finals and finished 4th on the list in a very competitive contest against other judo players from Europe.
The next weekend over the 2nd and 3rd of July Niki travelled to Walsall to compete at the National Team Championships as part of the London area cadet team. The London team were victorious winning gold beating the team from Scotland to secure the win.
It is a great achievement to compete at these levels and Niki will for sure take lots away from the experience for the future. We look forward to hearing about the rest of Niki’s achievements throughout the year.
