GLL Sport Foundation is celebrating the success of two young athletes at The Summer Youth Olympics

15-year-old Finn Hawkins from Cornwall (Windsurfing Bronze) and 17-year-old Caroline Dubois (Lightweight Boxing Gold) from London both receive sponsorship from GLL’s Sport Foundation – the largest independent athlete support programme in the UK.

Finn and Caroline joined 4,000 athletes from 206 countries competing for,  246 medals.

Team GB had 42 young athletes represent the country in 17 sports, winning a total of 15 medals overall.  The GLL Sport Foundation supported 6 athletes in total.

Undefeated in 32 amateur fights, European Championship and World Junior Champion title holder Caroline trains with Repton Boxing Club in East London and said: “I really appreciate all the help and support I get – whether that’s from  Better Gym Greenwich where I train  5 to 6 days a week or my  GSF award for travel, supplements, kit and physio.  It’s a long journey but it’s my goal to become a future Olympic gold medallist for Great Britain. James Jebb, GSF said:

“Well done to all our GSF sponsored athletes for making the Team GB effort at the Summer Youth Olympics so successful.

“Special congratulations to Finn and Caroline.  We are immensely proud to partner with them on their athlete journeys and in doing so, help them realise their international sporting dreams.”

Four other GSF athletes, Javier Bello, Joaquin Bello, James Miller and Maria Papworth, represented Great Britain in Buenos Aires and received GSF sponsorship.
