Athlete success celebrated at the annual Chiltern District Council Awards partnered with the GLL Sport Foundation

Chiltern District Council hosted the annual Community Awards at Kings Church, Amersham on Thursday 17th March. GLL’s Jamie Coleshill (Regional Director) presented awards and certificates to athletes part of the GLL Sports Foundation.

In attendanceimage009 included The Lord-Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire, Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, Cllr Mimi Harker OBE, Cllr Graham Harris and Cllr Nigel Shepherd.

Jamie Coleshill (Regional Director), Lynn Britten (Partnership Manager) John Amatt (Regional Manager) Josh Henning (Customer Service Advisor) Matt Harrington, Elayne Hughes and Leon Popplewell (Community Sports Managers) attended the event on behalf of GLL.

The annual event takes place as a celebration event recognising and rewarding volunteers and athletes in Chiltern. The GLL Sport Foundation work in partnership with Chiltern District Council to support young athletes that rely on their own and parents’ funding to be able to participate in sport. The awards recognise the hard work of athletes and take the financial burden that can make the different between an athlete making it to the next level or not. 2016 is the biggest year to date with 42 athletes that are being supported at an award value of over £29,000 in Chiltern.
